Porcelain Chip Fix two part epoxy
Hello, How many different color you have and if is only white with what kind color I can mix this one, Thank you
Good so far
I applied the epoxy and it is a bit raised over the porcelain. I wasn't sure about whether I could sand it or not. I chatted with customer care and they were very specific: use 220 grit wet after 72 hours of curing. That should be on the product or on the website.
Use with refinishing kit
It's not clear on the instructions how long you must wait before applying the Homax Tough Tile tub and sink refinishing kit. Neither kit specifies this, although there is an obvious interplay in the products.
Great stuff except for one thing:
You have to wait 5 days before the product hardens and you can use your sink! again! The instructions are deceptive because they say " Wait 5 days before cleaning with abrasive cleaners." But that implies it is OK to touch the repair after about 45 minutes, which is not true ;~)
I bought the porcelain chip fix follow the directions to the letter and get directions stated let stand for 1 hour at room temp to thicken let me tell you one thing it was so hard when I did get it out of the container to brush it onto the tub it was thick excessively thick I'd rather not buy this product again I just wasted my money on it,
Not ready for prime time.
I followed the instructions and it has been 48 hours and it is still sticky and has not set up. What do I do?
Homax quality control must be horrible!
Same problem as most reviewers with low ratings: product does not harden. I had two packages. I exchanged one package because it had about half as much hardener as the other. Calculated the volume of hardener & it was about right. Mixed and applied per instructions and after a week, it looks great, but is quite soft and very sticky. I'll try some other product.
Poor Product
I am a boat builder had have used many two-part epoxy compounds. I know to follow the directions exactly. This product never hardened after several days. I am impressed, however, in that Homax actually responds to these postings. This is almost unheard of today.
some batches don't harden
In doing some extensive patching, I bought (4) repair kits. First worked great, second worked great. I mixed the last two at the same time, keeping them separated in their (provided) mixing container. Neither hardened. This was 1 day apart, same bathtub, same house temp, prepped entire bathtub the same before starting. Scraped off the sticky product with putty knife and laquer thinner, tried again with a newly purchased kit. Same problem. Even tried a hair dryer. I liked the old two part epoxy large repair kit of years ago, it worked great. This is a quality control problem, not a product problem.
Tacky after 48 hours and does not match color
I purchase the chip repair and I used the original Homax tough tile a year ago and was very please buy am not please with the chip repair. It is still tacky after 48 hours and the color doesn’t match, which I had thought it would since I used the white homecoming refinishing kit. Please advise how to get the tackiness to hardened.
