Instructions
The two-step process consists of removing the old grout and damaged tiles with the grout saw and replacing the broken tiles and re-grouting with the multi-purpose Tile Grout and Adhesive.
Using the Grout Saw:
- Remove damaged, cracked or loose grout by raking the grout saw along the grout line.
- Be sure to remove at least 1/16” of the grout line.
- For stained, or mildewed grout, lightly scratch grout line to expose original grout.
- Avoid touching tiles with grout saw, for it may scratch the tiles.
Replacing a Damaged Tile:
- Remove all grout around the tile to be replaced with the grout saw.
- Pop out the damaged tile with a screw driver. Always work from the center of the tile. Prying along the edge may chip the tile next to the damaged one.
- Using Pre-Mixed Tile Grout as adhesive, set the new tile.
- Wait 1-2 hours, then grout around tile using the grouting instructions below.
Using Pre-Mixed Tile Grout:
- Clean tile with Tile Guard Tile and Grout Cleaner.
- Surfaces to be grouted must be clean, dry and free of any loose particles and dust.
- Knead tube of grout to mix.
- Trim nozzle to desired bead size and squeeze grout into tile joints that were removed with grout saw.
- Fill joint completely, then smooth with finger tip, or mildly damp sponge.
- Allow grout to set 15 minutes, then wipe off excess, by wiping diagonally across each joint that was re-grouted with a damp sponge.
- After 1 hour, polish with a clean, dry cloth. Let new grout dry for 48 hours before exposing to water.
