Do I need to add water or thin the material?
The material is mixed to the correct consistency so there is usually no need to alter it. If it has been partially used you may need to thin slightly, use best judgement.
Note: The only exception would be when spraying a very fine orange peel. A small amount of water can be added to the texture. This is intended for immediate use only.
Can I add paint to it?
No. Since these textures are used with our Spray Texture Systems it is not recommended. Our Spray Texture Systems are for spraying texture only, not paint. Also, splatter texture does not provide total coverage so it is necessary to paint over it once it dries.
What Spray Texture System can I use these textures with?
The premixed textures are interchangeable with our Manual Texture Guns #4205 & 4405P, as well as our Pneumatic Texture Guns 4610 & 4620.
Should I primer the surface prior to applying the textures? Before I apply my paint?
Yes. Like any painting type project you will want to primer to insure a clean surface and good adhesion. Although you can primer again prior to painting it is not necessary.
Can I texture outside?
No. The latex based texture is water soluble and intended for interior use only.
What does the date on the container stand for?
The date stamped on the outside of the container is the date the product was manufactured. We guarantee our product up to 2 years from that date.
