Prepare the Texture:

1. Mix in a separate container according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Prepare the Gun:

1. Snap the gun firmly onto the texture hopper and twist. Make sure that the bottle lock on the gun passes through the slot on the top of the hopper and the pin engages in the opposite hole. Turn the bottle lock 90°.
2. Select the desired texture pattern. Adjust the gun setting to control the various patterns. The Nozzle Plate controls the size of the individual splatters and the Volume Control Switch on the handle controls the volume of texture material and the size of the cone-shaped spray pattern.
3. Connect compressor air hose to the gun. Turn on the compressor and set pressure at 25-35 psi. If you are using a portable air supply, or a small compressor with a tank, leave the Check Valve Ball in the gun to shut off the air when the trigger is released. If using a larger compressor, the Check Valve Ball may be removed to allow the air to flow continuously through the gun and may allow for better control of the spray pattern.
4. If using a HVLP spray unit, it is best to use the mid-range spray pattern settings. If the HVLP unit contains a motor speed reducer or “Flow Switch”, it must be turned to the “ON” position. The Check Valve Ball must be removed if you are using an HVLP unit. Unscrew the aluminum fitting and the Check Ball retainer. The Check Ball will roll out. It is not necessary to replace the Check Ball retainer. Replace the aluminum HP-HVLP quick-disconnect fitting and attach directly to the HVLP.

Applying the Texture:

1. Hold the gun with the bottle on the top. Stand approximately 3-4 feet away from the wall surface or 2 feet away from the ceiling. Pull the trigger to start both the air and material flowing. Move the gun in a slow sweeping motion as you begin spraying. Test the spray pattern on a sample surface until you obtain the desired pattern.
2. When spraying ceilings, the material must be able to be gravity fed from the texture bottle into the gun chamber. Be sure to hold the gun properly. (See full instructions for more information).
3. To change the spray pattern, try making any of the following adjustments:
   
   - Change the nozzle plate or volume control adjustment
   - Stand closer or further away from the wall or ceiling as you spray
   - Increase or decrease the air pressure slightly
   - Thin the texture material with a very small amount of water
4. For Knockdown or “Mediterranean” texture, allow the material to begin to set up after spraying (approximately 10-15 minutes). Then, using a wide blade drywall knife or trowel, lightly flatten, or knock down the splatter by gently troweling over the texture in all directions. Hold the knife at a 10° - 20° angle to the wall (almost parallel to the wall surface).
5. To clean the Pneumatic II gun, disconnect the compressor hose from the gun. Turn bottle lock and remove the texture bottle from the gun. Remove nozzle plate by aligning flat edge with guide. Rinse with water. Rinse the chamber of the gun using warm water and a soft bristle brush. Do not soak or immerse the gun in water or solvent, as this removes the protective grease from the gun parts.
6. Allow the texture to dry overnight before painting.
