Troubleshooting
When the gun comes out of the box it should have a male quick-disconnect fitting attached to a female nut fitting. Depending on the type of fitting on the compressor hose being used, the quick-disconnect may have to be removed (this is covered in the instructions). There is a HVLP coupler available through Homax for use with HVLP units. The check ball in the gun should rattle when gun is removed from the box.
Brand new gun not spraying?
Plastic piece may be floating in front of nozzle – Use REAMER
Texture or air will not flow from nozzle, why?
Check for nozzle obstruction first. If texture still will not flow, remove front plate and check to see if nozzle pulls back when trigger is pulled. You will not be able to see nozzle pull back with front plate on with this gun. Also, this gun does not have to be pressurized to pull back the nozzle. The trigger is the sole control of the nozzle. If nozzle is not pulling back, trigger must not be operating properly. This indicates possibly a broken boss or broken spring.
Texture keeps getting jammed and won’t spray?
Check your settings and PSI. Acoustic setting should be 20-25PSI and setting 4D. If they’re not set correctly, the texture will jam in the front of the gun. Take texture off gun, clean front plate, rinse gun thoroughly with water and change setting accordingly.
Trigger will not operate, why?
This problem is possibly a broken boss of trigger spring inside body. Open gun to see.
Trigger will not return to closed position:
Check for obstruction at nozzle. Check trigger spring.
Air Flow will not stop:
Check for obstruction at nozzle and that check ball is in place.
Texture is leaking out around handle:
The one O-ring in this gun could be missing or damaged.
Experiencing a lot of drippage around nozzle?
This gun should not drip as much as the manual guns as it has a different front plate. Make sure the user has the right front plate.
Having difficulty spraying the ceiling?
This gun has a built in 40 degree angle for ceiling spraying, so gravity feeding the texture should not be a problem. Angle gun slightly if needed, or shake texture down into chamber if less than half full.
I can’t get a super-fine orangepeel:
Make sure the gun is set on 1A. Try thinning texture with a small amount of water.
I lost the check ball retainer
It is not necessary to replace the retainer if you are using the gun without the check ball.
