Sand-Texture is ideal for adding a light texture to new walls or ceilings or for use on older surfaces to help hide minor flaws and patches. It can be added to any type of paint such as latex, primer, oil-based, semi-gloss, even epoxy. It can be applied to any paintable surface – drywall, wood, concrete, cement block. Sand-Texture may also be used on exterior surfaces to re-texture worn stucco when painting.
Surface Preparation:
Surface should be clean and dry and prepared as you would for painting. Glossy surfaces should be dulled with sandpaper and any necessary repairs should be made to holes and cracks.
Mixing Instructions:
- The use of a dust mask when mixing is recommended. Mix in a separate container, one package of Sand-Texture to one gallon of paint. Add the material gradually while stirring to prevent clumping.
- Stir occasionally to keep texture material suspended in paint.
- Depending on desired texture, you can add more or less Sand-Texture to your paint.
How to Apply:
- Pour mixture into paint tray.
- Using a 1/2” nap roller, load roller with material and apply to surface using medium pressure.
- Roll out material in one direction, then load roller again and apply in opposite direction (cross-rolling) in order to even out and build up the texture.
- Any lumps can be wiped off and rolled over until texture covers. Clean up with warm water.
