Spraying:
- Important – surface must be free of dirt, grease, silicones, etc.
- Protect surrounding areas from spray mist with drop cloths, newspapers.
- For best results, can temperature should be between 70°F and 80°F.
- Shake can vigorously for at least one minute after mixing ball rattles.
- Do a test spray to clean out any clear liquid.
- Finger must not protrude over front edge of spray button.
- If there is an area you do not want to spray, tape off or use Vaseline to prevent Rubberize-It from sticking to that area.
- Hold can 12” to 16” from surface to be painted and direct opening in spray button toward object.
- Press spray button firmly. Go back and forth using steady, even strokes while spraying.
- Once both sides are covered with a thin coat, let dry for 4 hrs. to the touch and 24 hours before the second coat.
- Several thin coats will result in a better finish than one heavy coat.
- If clogging develops, remove spray button with a twisting motion and clean. Do not stick pins or other objects into can. Gently replace spray button with a twisting motion. Keep top of can and button opening pointed away from you.
- Always clean spray button by inverting the can and depressing the nozzle until no more paint comes out.
- The empty can should be discarded in trash pick-up. Do not place in home garbage compactor or burn.
