Spraying:

  1. Important – surface must be free of dirt, grease, silicones, etc.
  2. Protect surrounding areas from spray mist with drop cloths, newspapers.
  3. For best results, can temperature should be between 70°F and 80°F.
  4. Shake can vigorously for at least one minute after mixing ball rattles.
  5. Do a test spray to clean out any clear liquid.
  6. Finger must not protrude over front edge of spray button.
  7. If there is an area you do not want to spray, tape off or use Vaseline to prevent Rubberize-It from sticking to that area.
  8. Hold can 12” to 16” from surface to be painted and direct opening in spray button toward object.
  9. Press spray button firmly. Go back and forth using steady, even strokes while spraying.
  10. Once both sides are covered with a thin coat, let dry for 4 hrs. to the touch and 24 hours before the second coat.
  11. Several thin coats will result in a better finish than one heavy coat.
  12. If clogging develops, remove spray button with a twisting motion and clean. Do not stick pins or other objects into can. Gently replace spray button with a twisting motion. Keep top of can and button opening pointed away from you.
  13. Always clean spray button by inverting the can and depressing the nozzle until no more paint comes out.
  14. The empty can should be discarded in trash pick-up. Do not place in home garbage compactor or burn.
