I used this product on my tub surround and it keeps pulling away even with repeated pressing and rubbing.
Bathtub Sealer Trim is made for use on a ceramic wall and tub that are firmly bonded to each other. You should use Tub Surround Seal for tub surrounds – this is a strip without a score line that should adhere only to the wall, allowing for motion between the tub and wall.
I used this product and it’s not sticking. What am I doing wrong?
- How did they prepare the surface before application?
The final IMPORTANT step in preparation is rubbing alcohol. Any dirt, grease, grime, or oil left on the surface can repel the adhesive. - What type of walls are they applying it to?
- If tile, are the tiles uneven? Product will not stick if the tiles are substantially uneven.
- If wallpaper, most wallpaper is designed for moist areas, such as kitchens and bathrooms, and are plastic coated or finished in a way that will repel the adhesive. - Is there a soap dish in the area where it’s not sticking?
Soap scum will repel the adhesive. - Was the product used horizontally?
The product is made for horizontal use only – if used vertically, it will fall down. It cannot be used wall to ceiling – it’s too heavy, it will fall.
