Instructions
Surface Preparation: Remove all loose or protruding caulk. If silicone caulk has been used, it must be completely removed. If necessary, mineral spirits/paint thinner may be used to soften any remaining particles of caulk.
Thoroughly clean with scouring powder to remove caulk residue, soap film, mildew, and rinse clean. Use rubbing alcohol for final cleaning of surfaces. Allow surfaces to dry thoroughly before installing caulkstrip.
Application to wall and counter:
- Measure the longest length of the tub and cut caulkstrip to that length.
- Pre-bend the caulkstrip by folding it at the score line to form a 90° angle.
- Peel the first 12 inches of backing paper and begin to press the folded caulkstrip into the joint where the countertop meets the wall. Pressing the caulkstrip firmly against both countertop and wall, continue to peel the backing paper along the length of the wall.
- Measure the short side dimensions of the countertop and apply the same way. At the corners, overlap the bottom half of the strip. You may leave it this way or miter (45° angle) the corners by cutting through both bottom layers.
- After installing, run your fingers firmly over all applied lengths to ensure good adhesion and watertight seal. Do not use your sink or counter area for 12 hours following installation.
