Is there a maximum time limit that Metal Etch can be left on metal?
No, not really, but the consumer must keep in mind two aspects of acid and metal. The acid will continue to react and instead of lightly etching the surface, it can corrode and leave pits, which makes for an uneven surface.
How hazardous is any run off to plants and animals?
When rinsed off of the surface, the Metal Etch will be reduced with water, which brings the ph to a more neutral harmless level. It will react with concrete too, though, so you must watch with care WERE the runoff is going.
What is the Ph for this product?
The Ph is 2-4. Since it is diluted with water, though, the water should also be tested if an accurate Ph is needed.
