Supply Chain Project Manager
Manage the implementation of dramatic cross functional process improvements in supply chain and demand management. Define and develop supply chain performance metrics. Improve demand management and sales forecasting. Implement optimal inventory management processes, including differentiated service strategies. Reduce working capital through implementation of strategic sourcing strategies designed to reduce total supply chain inventories and response time. Optimize production cost and service performance through implementation of LEAN, pull strategies and capacity planning tools. Identify and reduce slow moving and obsolete inventory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- S&OP: Design, develop and implement improved supply with demand planning processes, integrating performance metrics, demand management, supply planning, new product development and brand strategies.
- Metrics: Define and develop supply chain performance metrics, targeting customer satisfaction, cost and working capital. Coordinate internal metrics with customer metrics. Design and implement supplier scorecards, which are aligned with strategic supplier programs. Develop measures of on time performance, schedule adherence and inventory quality.
- Demand Management: Develop an integrated weekly bucketed demand management process. Optimize statistical forecasting, to include seasonal profiling, accommodating historical promotional events, and product transitions and substitutions. Utilize statistics to define statistically derived safety stocks. Develop forecasts for the top tier accounts. Integrate customer point of sale data for exception reporting management and demand anticipation.
- Inventory Management: Define optimal inventory strategies, setting boundaries, developing pull systems to remote distribution locations and implementing quantitative replenishment processes. Implement Differentiated Service strategies including combined ABC item and customer differentiation, and Make to Order, Finish to Order, Make to Stock and Stock Private Label stocking strategies. Utilize LEAN tool to reduce replenishment lot sizes and lead times.
- Strategic Supplier Alliances: Work with Domestic Sourcing and Purchasing, to reduce the supplier base, and develop appropriate strategic supplier programs. Implement programs intended to provide transparency to demands, and drive service, cost and working capital improvements across the total supply chain.
- Production: Develop capacity planning tools to provide future demand visibility to manufacturing. Implement pull systems for replenishment of internally manufactured products. Support implementation of LEAN techniques to reduce costs, lead times, lot sizes, driving flexibility and performance improvements.
- SLOB Reduction: Identify, slow moving and obsolete inventory. Work with Sales, Marketing and Operations organizations to release working capital tied up SLOB inventories.
- ATP: Develop ATP visibility for improved Customer Service.
- Work with ERP system developers/specialists to develop system functionality and reports.
- Manage projects to budget on time.
- Supports additional initiatives as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. M.B.A. desirable.
- BSIE, Industrial management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or similar degree preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret technical and other complex documents. Ability to write routine correspondence such as letters and memos. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to internal and/or external clients.
REASONING AND/OR CRITICAL THINKING ABILITY:
The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction. Constructive thinking and alternative short- to long-term solutions must be considered. Action plans must be developed and implemented.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Advanced ability to operate computers and related software programs.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- S&OP Process
- PPIC Processes
- LEAN and quantitative analysis techniques
- Statistics and Forecasting
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Advanced Excel and Access
- Database reporting experience
- JD Edwards or other similar level ERP system preferred
- Q4Biz or other data warehouse program preferred
- APICS certification highly desirable
